Back To School Shopping

Starting back to school in August is extremely hot. Cute summer dresses are great for back to school as long as they meet the standards of the school you are attending. A cute dress is so comfortable for a typical school day. A sun dress paired with a pair of sandals is perfect and super stylish for school. Another great thing to remember, is that most dresses can be worn into fall by just adding a simple light jacket and again a pair of sandals or in some cases a pair of cowboy boots.
Back to School Green Living Tips

August has come and gone and everybody from young children to college students are now back at school. Most parents are breathing a sigh of relief! While back-to-school time means a bit of relief for parents as well as busier schedules for kids, it also means a ton of activities that can be harmful to the planet. Whether you're the parent of a small, school-aged child or whether you're a blossoming college student, here are some ways to make back-to-school more eco friendly.
Use Eco Friendly Lunch Packaging
If you carry your lunch with you regularly, don't use disposable
bags and other plastic-based packaging. Invest in a reusable lunch sack
and reusable containers for food and beverages. If you do use
single-serving pre-packaged portions, be responsible about recycling
them. If you purchase your lunch daily, carry reusable utensils with you
so that you don't need to use disposable plastic ones each day.
Limit Your Back-To-School Shopping
We all need some new things for back-to-school, but if you pay
attention to the media you'll end up thinking that you need to replace
every single item that you own just because it's time to start classes
again. Only buy what you really need to go back to school. Set a budget
and stick to it. Also, consider hitting thrift stores to reduce your
consumption of made-to-order materials. Finally, for what you do need to
buy, make an effort to select postconsumer-made goods or eco-friendly
brands.
Frugal SAHM Back to School Tips
Posted on Wednesday, August 31 @ 01:35:39 CDT | Topic: Business
As frugal SAHM (stay at home moms), getting ready to send our kids back to school for another school year, there are a few tips that I recommend that can make the transition smoother, while saving money and even teaching your kids a thing or two about tightwad living.
1. Stock Up on Supplies
Late July and the month of August are the best times for a SAHM to get school supplies for literally pennies on the dollar. Most SAHMs get what is on their child's supply list and are happy with their savings. But then, most moms also run out of sharp crayons, filler paper, notebooks and scissors (anyone here actually remember where their scissors are?) by mid-year. Be a frugal SAHM and spend a little extra money now to stock up on supplies to last you through the entire school year.
